Icons

Icons is my new mixed media series. The idea of this series is to offer a modern twist to traditional religious iconography asking, "What is sacred and precious to you?"

My Icons are created on wood using various materials including photographs, fabric, acrylic paint, metal and paper. All Icons are one of a kind, signed and dated works of art.

Photographs used in the Icons series are also available as limited edition prints.

Photography

At its core, my work is subtly infused with my spirituality. I say subtly, because while it may not appear obvious to the viewer, it is always there. It is my enduring goal to present the viewer with the reality that there is beauty in all things; it's just a matter of perspective.

I’ve coined the term “photorelativity” to serve as a philosophical description of my work. When something is relative, it exists only by relation to something else. The same is true of my art.

Photorelativity alludes to my belief that all things are connected. It’s a great ripple effect. What we say, do, think and feel frequently has greater effects than we may ever realise.
I believe we often impact others without even knowing it--- without even knowing them.

Many of these images were captured using my Nikon 35mm camera and most recently with my digital Canon SLR. The photographs are high quality, digital prints produced from the original, digitally scanned negatives and digital raw files.
